Ozoners '97, '98 and '99


International Visitors


On December 4th 1997 we had a visit by Professor Kazumi Shiba of Hiroshima University and Mr Hideo Munechika of Naka Kurose Primary School. They had been sent to Australia to research Science and Technology Education. Sixteen assistant professors were sent to twelve different countries. They visited five Victorian schools and came to Sunshine to investigate how the ozone project started and operated. The project fitted into their research into Environmental Education and Information Technology.

VISIT BY UK TEACHER

Brian Fisher a teacher from the UK recently toured Australia studying students understanding of the "Greenhouse Effect and Ozone Hole". He was sponsored by ASF and the British Council. Brian became aware of our project through the web page. He interviewed about 100 students in Australia and he interviewed some of the students involved in the Ozone Project and a few questions from of the ozone survey are listed below. He asked the same questions of Australian and UK students.

VISIT BY THE US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

Mr Kevin Rossell, who is the Communications Director of the Stratospheric Protection Division of the EPA, visited Sunshine to see how the ozone project operated. Kevin was interested in how to adapt the ozone project model for use in America, especially for informing the public and particularly school students about the dangers of UV Radiation.

TEACHERS FROM THE USA

On July 22nd 1999 we had a visit by three teachers from the USA who were interested in Environmental Education. They were from California and Arizona. Rose Mary Forhand and Susanne Weisker were from Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville CA.
